Quick and Easy Christmas Chocolate Fudge
This delicious Christmas Chocolate fudge is so quick and easy to make. It’s a super creamy fudge that has just 4 ingredients and takes 5 minutes of prep time. And it’s such an easy fudge recipe that anyone can make, using simple ingredients and without the need for a candy thermometer. To make it fun and festive for the holiday season, my 4th ingredient is Christmas M&Ms, but feel free to swap it for crushed candy canes, as a nod to the peppermint flavour. A delicious sweet treat at Christmas time and a fantastic option if you love giving homemade gifts at Christmas. Whip it up in no time for any last-minute gift giving, because everyone loves homemade Christmas fudge!

- Super easy recipe
- You can swap the chocolate for your own favourite flavours
- No need for a candy thermometer -just use the microwave!
- It’s a basic fudge recipe that can be customised so many ways
- It will keep in the fridge for 2-3 weeks, making it perfect for gifting!
- Great fun to make with kids
Ingredients
- Chocolate: I love using Lindt dark chocolate that’s already flavoured and the dark peppermint is perfect for this delicious fudge recipe
- Sweetened condensed milk: you will need 1 can
- Butter: unsalted, cold and cubed
- M&Ms: or any other christmas sprinkles you like
Substitutions and Additions
- Peppermint Chocolate: dark chocolate is excellent as a base for fudge. Swap the peppermint with any of the Lindt dark chocolate range -caramelized hazelnut is also amazing. Just top it with finely chopped roasted hazelnuts instead.
- Flavoured Chocolate: instead of using the flavoured chocolate above, you can use peppermint extract and dark chocolate chips, semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate. Just use good quality eating chocolate, not chocolate melts.
- M&Ms: try crushed candy canes, or swirl some melted white chocolate chips through the top of the fudge
Step by Step Instructions
- Spray a 20cm (8 inch) square pan with cooking spray, line with baking paper and set aside
- Cut the chocolate into small pieces and add to a large microwave-safe bowl
- Place the bowl in a microwave and heat for 1 minute
- Give it a good stir with a silicone or rubber spatula, then continue to heat at 30 second intervals (it should only take 1-2 more goes)
- Once melted, add the condensed milk and butter and give it another good stir
- Return to the microwave for 40 seconds, then stir again to make sure the butter has all melted
- Spread the mixture into your prepared pan and sprinkle M&Ms on top of the fudge
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours
- Once chilled and set, use a large, sharp knife to cut the fudge into small squares
- Store in the fridge, in an airtight container for 3-4 weeks. If it’s not too hot (hello Australian Christmas!) it can be kept at room temperature for a week or 2, just keep it airtight and seperate the layers of fudge with wax paper or parchment paper. It can also be frozen, stored the same way, for 3-4 months
Tips and Tricks
- This is not a sponsored post, but I love using the Lindt Excellence range for making quick and easy fudge, as it’s already flavoured and delicious!
- Don’t overheat your chocolate -just enough so it’s only just melted. After adding the butter, it only needs another 30-40 seconds -you don’t want all of that delicious chocolate to seize!
- If it’s really hot where you are, try popping the fudge in the freezer for 10-15 minutes before cutting it -it’s less messy.
Serving Suggestions
- Christmas dessert buffet: this fudge is a delicious little treat that will disappear very quickly!
- Christmas gifts: a delicious gift for the Christmas season -pop it into a glass jar or foodsafe bag and tie it with a bow -it’s the perfect holiday treat!
Storage
- Fridge: in an airtight container for 3-4 weeks.
- Room temperature: If it’s not too hot it can be kept at room temperature for a week or 2, just keep it airtight and seperate the layers of fudge with wax paper or parchment paper).
- Freezer: it can also be frozen, stored the same as above, for 3-4 months
I hope you love how quick and easy this Christmas Fudge recipe is! One of my favourite “hacks” is the Lindt flavoured chocolates. It’s a great way of adding flavour, but without the extra ingredients! I always look out for when they’re half price and stock up. This homemade fudge is not just for Christmas though -experiment with different flavours and additions and make this recipe your own.
