Hi, I’m Sandie…
welcome to Apple Cake Annie!
So why Apple Cake Annie? It’s a baking blog dedicated to my late Nanna, Annie and the beautiful baking memories she gave me. And as for her Apple Cakes….they will always remind me of Annie and her love of baking for her family.
Apple Cake Annie came about in 2019. After inheriting Annie’s recipe tin, I began thinking I should turn all of her recipes into a book for my family. Instead, I decided to share it with the world!
And here we are….
Since then, I have been busily creating a blog, developing recipes, learning all about food photography and discovering a whole new world of things I never knew I could do!
My background is Beauty Therapy and Interior Design, but my main focus has been raising my family of 4 boys, who are now all beautiful young men aka taste testers!

My greatest childhood memory is of me sitting on the kitchen bench, while my Mum made Pavlova (her Pavlovas were legendary!).
But after losing her when I was just 7, it was Annie who helped develop my very sweet tooth and who showed me the way around a kitchen. And she taught me how to share love through baking, which is why I’m here…
Apple Cake Annie is all about those beautiful nostalgic recipes, with a little bit of modern style…and a whole lot of love. It’s good old fashioned sweet baking that reminds you of home.
Whether it’s for my classic Choc Chip Cookies, my husband’s favourite Mars Bar Slice or my crazypopular Meringues, I hope you can find something here to get you into the kitchen and get baking!
There’s something for every sweet tooth at Apple Cake Annie. It’s the food I grew up with, the treats I bake for my family at home, it’s weekend brunch and it’s also some healthier options….there’s truly something for everyone!
