Triple Chocolate Pretzel Brownies are super fudgy, decadently rich and chewy, and have the perfect balance of richness, saltiness and crunch. And SO much better than any box brownie!
Super easy to make, my Triple Chocolate Pretzel Brownies don’t require a mixer and are ready in 35 minutes The most difficult thing about them is getting your kids to wait for them to cool down! Seriously, my boys will hack away at the pan as soon as I turn my back!
SO WHAT MAKES THESE BROWNIES SO GOOD?
Real ingredients = real flavour.
- Melted dark chocolate make my Triple Chocolate Pretzel Brownies super fudgy.
- Unsalted butter, not oil, makes the brownies rich and smooth (no greasy brownies here!)
- Brown and white sugars give sweetness, with the brown sugar really bringing that rich flavour home.
- Another shot of chocolate -I use milk chocolate chips as well, which keeps my boys happy.
- Chocolate coated pretzels give the brownies a lovely salty, crunchy hit.
MY TIPS FOR THE BEST TRIPLE CHOCOLATE PRETZEL BROWNIES
- When folding in the dry ingredients, stop when there’s still 1 or 2 flour spots -you don’t want to overmix them.
- I found chocolate coated pretzels at Costco. If you can’t find chocolate coated pretzels, regular pretzels will also work.
- Brownies will continue to cook a little while cooling in the pan, so make sure you’re not tempted to overbake -they should still be slightly gooey when they come out of the oven.
- I cook my brownies in a conventional oven (no fan). I find that a fan-forced bake tends to dry them out too quickly.
- To make cutting the brownies less messy, try popping the cooled brownies (still in the pan) into the freezer for 10 minutes, then cut into slices.
WHY YOU NEED TRIPLE CHOCOLATE BROWNIES IN YOUR LIFE
- They’re insanely easy to make!
- They’re perfect to bake and take and you’ll be the hit of your next picnic or party
- Your kids will love you forever! One of mine actually told me that my Triple Chocolate Pretzel Brownies make him sad for all the times I made any other brownie!

- 175 g unsalted butter
- 150 g caster sugar
- 100 g light brown sugar
- 3 eggs XL
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 150 g plain flour
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- 100 g milk chocolate chips
- 100 g chocolate coated pretzels roughly chopped
- 16 chocolate coated pretzels to decorate
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 165°C/150° Fan/330°F
- Grease and line a 23cm square baking tin
- In a double boiler, melt the dark chocolate and butter. Put aside
- In a large bowl and using a balloon whisk, combine the sugars, eggs and vanilla
- Add the chocolate and butter into the mixture
- Sift the flour and baking powder over the mixture, then add the chopped pretzels and milk chocolate chips
- Gently fold this through until JUST combined (a few spots of flour is ok)
- Pour mixture into prepared pan and top with the 16 pretzels (one for each serve)
- Bake for 25 mins. Brownies can be a little gooey in the centre still. Don't overcook
- Allow to cool in the pan, before cutting into 16 squares°
Notes
- I cook my brownies in a conventional oven (no fan) at 165 celsius.
- Brownies will set more while they cool, so don't worry if they come out of the oven a little gooey.
- Place the unsliced brownies into the freezer for 10 minutes to make cutting easier and less messy.
